June 2019

It's the start of the 2019 Red Snapper and Gag Grouper seasons today! We are looking forward to a successful and busy Summer ☀️

Local Events

June is an event packed month for the Emerald Coast! To kick it off, we celebrate the 64th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival from May 31-June 4th. There are several weekly and bi-weekly events throughout the Summer. The Party Gras Parade takes place every Tuesday at 8:30pm at Harborwalk Village. You'll be able to enjoy fireworks on Wednesdays and Thursday nights from the Downtown Fort Walton Beach area and Downtown Destin. Concerts at the Landing take place every Friday, supplying various local music. Rock the Docks is another music-related event every Saturday at 7pm at the Harborwalk Village Band Shell. Lastly, the Okaloosa Island Boardwalk hosts a free movie night every Tuesday throughout the rest of the Summer.

Fishing News

Red Snapper Season begins on June 1st this year and lasts until August 2nd. Gag grouper season also begins June 1st, lasting until December 31st, 2019. Both are delicious and very fun to catch! Captain Reid recommends an 8-hour trip or longer to catch the big ones! 🐟
