We welcomed Spring last month and have been loving this warm weather.
Local Events
April is an event-packed month! There are a couple month-long Cobia Tournaments, as well as several weekend cobia tournaments to participate in. We'll discuss them in more detail in the Fishing News section.
We look forward to the Miss Destin Pageant on Saturday, April 13th. Miss Destin represents the city for the entire month of October at the Annual Fishing Rodeo. She also attends other local events throughout the year. There is an Earth Day Beach Clean-up also on April 13th at the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island from 8-10a. Easter is on April 20th this year and there are a number of egg hunts and events throughout the month. Have a fantastic month, from the Rewind Crew!
Fishing News
As aforementioned, April is the time to fish for cobia. Harbor Docks is hosting the Cobia World Championship from March 29 to May 6th. There are generally other weekend tournaments as well. Cobia aren't quite out-and-about yet this year, but we'll be fishing for them later this month. If you're interested in participating in a tournament, you'll be required to cover all fees and speak to Captain Reid about it at (850) 797-7678. Happy fishing!
